Earlier this month I visited the Italian Center in Sacramento and did a small presentation about Innocent War’s true facts. This was an awesome visit because I realized that most people there could relate with my own experience as I tried to relate with my father. I was nervous. It is one thing to speak about the Italian WWII experience to people who know only historical documented facts, and it is a different thing to do the presentation to people that might have been there, or at least heard the first hand experiences from relatives who lived through it. The honor I felt sharing my own family’s story and my journey as I tried to get closer to my parents was surpassed only by the honor I felt to listen to some of the attendee’s stories. It was a wonderful event and I thank from the bottom of my heart the Sacramento’s Italian Center for having me.
