We’re Doing What for Summer Vacation?” by Cindy Davis and Ali Rollason is a true story. weredoingwhatIt is told by a 9-year-old girl named Ali. She tells about what happens when they go on a trip for summer vacation. They go to Borneo, which isn’t a place that people usually take a trip to on their summer vacations. She goes with her big brother Zak who is 12-years-old and her parents.

Borneo is an island. I had never heard of it before I read this book. I looked it up on a map to find out where it was. It is very far away from America. On their trip, they went and stayed there for a month. Before they left, they had to get shots. That is one part that I definitely would not like.

I liked reading about their trip and how they got there. They did many different things when they were there. They had lots of different adventures. My favorite part was when they got to live in a tree house. Living in a tree house would be so fun! I think that it would be really cool to go to a place that most people don’t normally go to. You can do so many fun things, just like they did in the book.

I think “We’re Doing What for Summer Vacation?” by Cindy Davis and Ali Rollason would be a good book to read on summer vacation. Even if you don’t get to go to the place in the book, it is fun to read about it and learn about what it is like. It is a lot different there than it is in America.
